A bit of everything (19-Jul-10)

Went down for a quick fish on a relatively warm Winter’s day, going at about 19 degrees. The weather was beautiful and the wind was mysteriously absent. Surprisingly not many people to start off with for the last weekend of school holidays. We berleyed up from the get go and there were plenty of Garfish swimming around. After a few frustrating attempts, I ended up catching about 6 of them, using the smallest hook I could find, a size 22! The method of catching them really tests your patience. I basically had to wait for the bait to be swallowed follow the fish around for about half a minute before striking! We also caught some pilchards and yellowtail towards the end of the day. Nothing else for the day, but a good catch of bait for our next trip! (sorry no pics this time!)
