On a hot summer’s day, with plenty of people fishing, we were confident on getting some big fish. The baitfish were aplenty and after hooking up a few we had some down as live bait. Not long after, we were on! It was heavy and the weight was a dead one, so we initially thought it would be a sting ray but after a few head shakes, it was confirmed as a flathead. We did not have a net so I had to run back to the car to get one. We just managed to secure the fish by tangling it on the side of the net, but it was enough to get it up. It measured about 75cm.
Please note that the larger ones are females and that you are by law only allowed to take the 1 over 70cm.
